Giving FAQ

  • How do I get my certificate?

You can download the certificate from the donation portal. We’ll send you a link to the donation portal in a confirmation email immediately after you’ve made your donation. Click on the “Open donation portal” link included in that email. Alternatively, you can also request a login link; it will be valid for 30 minutes.

On the donation portal, select your donation, click on "Your Documents," and you'll see the word "Certificate" in the top-left corner of the menu bar.

  • Will I receive the certificate as a printed copy by post or digitally by email?

You’ll receive the certificate digitally as a PDF via email. That way, you can decide for yourself whether you want to print it out and, if so, in what size.
  • I want to give a certificate as a gift – what details do I need to provide on the donation form?

Please make sure you also provide your personal details under ‘Your contact details’. This is important for allocating the donation, so that only you receive all the information and the donation receipt. Further down, under ‘Wildlife Conservation Certificate’, you can enter the name of the person you’re giving the gift to, as well as a personalised occasion (e.g. ‘For their 18th birthday’).
  • Who receives the donation receipt?

As the donor, you will receive the donation receipt. We will send all the information and files to you.
  • How do you process donations in USD?

Donations in US dollars are processed through our partner, American Friends of Canadian Conservation (AFCC). You'll receive an email with your tax receipt from AFCC and an email from WI with instructions about how to download your certificate.
  • How can I cancel a recurring donation?

You can cancel your donation yourself in your donation portal. Select your donation, click on “Your Documents,” and then click on “Payment” in the top-left menu. There you can edit and cancel your subscription—just click on the pencil icon.

You can also temporarily pause your subscription or adjust your donation amount. Just send us an email at contact@wilderness-international.org.

  • What percentage of my donation really protects the forest?

95% of your donations flow directly into forest protection and the associated environmental education and research. Our administrative cost ratio is only 5%.

  • What obligations do I have as a donor?

There are no further obligations for you. The donation is one-off and enables us as a foundation to ensure the long-term protection of the area. The sponsorship is symbolic. The forest area remains the property of Wilderness International.

  • What does Wilderness International do with my personal data?

Wilderness International uses your data solely for processing your donation. We safeguard it the best we possibly can and will never share your data with third parties. For more information on how we handle your data, please see our privacy policy.
